Scope

The OSHA standard that applies to the electric power industry is [1910.269]. This standard covers the operation and maintenance of electric power:
  • generation,
  • control,
  • transformation,
  • transmission and distribution lines,
  • substations, and 
  • equipment.
The standard is divided into twenty-three sections, (a) through (w): This eTool is designed in modules based on work activities and the nature of hazards associated with those activities. The activities covered are those associated with operation and maintenance work for transmission and distribution systems. The first phase of the eTool is the Illustrated Glossary.


*eTools are "stand-alone," interactive, web-based training tools on occupational safety and health topics. As indicated in the disclaimer, eTools do not create new OSHA requirements.
